Ecological Literacies Conference 2026: Learning with Place, Story and Pedagogies of Listening

The Ecological Literacies Conference brings together educators and researchers to share stories of inquiry emerging from early learning centres, schools and local environments across Australia. Through presentations, pedagogical documentation and conversation, participants will explore how place, story and sustained attention can shape meaningful learning experiences for children and educators alike.

Inspired by pedagogies of listening and teacher research, the conference will create space for emerging questions, relationships and perspectives. Throughout the day, presenters will share how ecological inquiries have opened up new ways of noticing, responding and learning with the places we inhabit.

The conference concludes with an optional cultural walk at Beeliar Wetlands, offering participants an opportunity to continue learning together through direct engagement with Country.
